Peach Tea Lemonade

I don’t know how to start this poem.

We met at a movie theater.

I though that if you were going to be an ass might as well meet on my side of town.

It was my first time meeting someone from a dating site in person.

Seeing you for the first time was the taste of sweet tea

but soon enough it became sour like lemons

After a couple of months your true self started to seep through

it was a leak in the ceiling of my life

becoming more and more of problem

I had to deal with but did’t want too.

Yelling here and there about things you wanted to change but didn’t

Smoking to cover your pain instead of talking.

I told myself that this is the price I will pay for love.

I thought you was my soul mate.

My one true love.

But once my confidence was built up

I realized that I deserved better.

I was worth more than the bitter taste of lemons

I deserved more than a hint of sweetness on my tongue

And I will get it.
